Fort Lauderdale Massage & Wellness FAQs

Quick answers about massage, lymphatic drainage, red light therapy, acupuncture, booking, parking, red light therapy, packages, and memberships.

What type of massage should I book if I have pain, stress, tight muscles, or swelling?

Choose your massage by goal: relaxation, recovery, pain relief, swelling, or whole-body wellness. At All Natural Wellness Center in Fort Lauderdale, common options include Swedish massage, sports/deep tissue massage, holistic wellness massage, prenatal massage, and manual lymphatic drainage massage.

If you are not sure what your body needs, start with the symptom or outcome you care about most. Tight muscles and recovery often point toward sports/deep tissue massage. Stress and nervous system reset may point toward Swedish or holistic wellness massage. Swelling, puffiness, or post-procedure support may point toward MLD.

What is your signature holistic wellness massage, and how is it customized?

Our signature holistic wellness massage is a customized whole-person session built around your stress, tension, pain patterns, energy, and wellness goals. It is designed for clients who want more than a standard relaxation massage and need a session shaped around how they feel that day.

Your therapist may adjust pressure, pacing, focus areas, relaxation techniques, and supportive add-ons based on what you share before the session. This makes holistic wellness massage a strong choice when you want personalized care that can support both body tension and overall calm.

What is the difference between Swedish massage, sports/deep tissue massage, and holistic wellness massage?

Swedish massage is best for relaxation and stress relief, sports/deep tissue massage works deeper with soreness and recovery, and holistic wellness massage is the most customizable option for whole-body wellness goals.

If you want to unwind, Swedish is usually the simplest fit. If you have chronic tightness, athletic soreness, or stubborn muscle tension, sports/deep tissue massage is more targeted. If your needs are mixed or you want a session tailored around stress, energy, pain, and overall balance, holistic wellness massage may be the best starting point.

Is sports/deep tissue massage supposed to hurt?

Sports/deep tissue massage can feel intense, but it should not feel unbearable. The goal is productive pressure that helps release tight muscle tissue while staying within your comfort level.

Your therapist should check in with you and adjust pressure as needed. A good session may feel strong, focused, and relieving, but it should not feel like you have to suffer through it. Communication helps your therapist work effectively without pushing past what your body can tolerate.

How often should I book sports/deep tissue massage for pain, tight muscles, or recovery?

How often you book sports/deep tissue massage depends on your activity level, pain level, and how long the tension has been there. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions at first, while others maintain results every few weeks.

If you are dealing with chronic tightness, high training volume, or recurring discomfort, a short series of closer sessions can help build momentum. Once symptoms improve, many clients shift into a maintenance rhythm that fits their lifestyle, budget, and wellness goals.

What should I expect at my first visit to All Natural Wellness Center?

What is manual lymphatic drainage massage?

Manual lymphatic drainage massage, often called MLD, is a gentle massage technique that uses light, rhythmic movements to support lymph flow and help move excess fluid through the body.

MLD is commonly chosen by clients dealing with swelling, puffiness, fluid retention, post-procedure support, or a desire to feel lighter and less inflamed. It is different from deep pressure massage because the lymphatic system responds best to a softer, more specific touch.

Is lymphatic drainage massage good after surgery or for swelling?

Manual lymphatic drainage massage can be helpful for post-procedure support, swelling, puffiness, and fluid retention. It is often used to encourage healthy fluid movement and support the body during recovery.

Doctor clearance is not always required unless you are under specific medical orders or have been told to avoid massage or bodywork. If your physician has given you instructions after surgery or treatment, follow those instructions and share them with your therapist before your session.

What does red light therapy help with, and how is it different from a tanning bed?

Red light therapy supports recovery, inflammation reduction, skin health, circulation, and overall wellness. It is not a tanning bed, uses no UV light, and does not carry the same skin cancer risk associated with UV tanning beds.

Unlike tanning beds, red light therapy is not designed to darken the skin through ultraviolet exposure. It uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to support cellular energy and recovery, making it a wellness therapy rather than a tanning service.

How long is a red light therapy session, and how often should I use it for optimum results?

A red light therapy session is typically 15 to 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute vibrating plate session to further help detox the body. For optimum results, we recommend at least two sessions per week.

Consistency matters with red light therapy. Many clients use it as part of a wellness routine for recovery, inflammation support, skin health, and overall vitality. Packages and memberships can help make regular sessions more affordable.

What makes your full-body medical-grade red light therapy bed different?

All Natural Wellness Center offers Fort Lauderdale’s only full-body medical-grade red light therapy bed, allowing clients to treat the body more completely than with smaller panels or partial-body devices.

A full-body bed can be a better fit for clients who want broad wellness support rather than treating only one small area. David has researched this local claim and stands behind it for the Fort Lauderdale market.

Does acupuncture hurt, and what should I expect at my first session?

Acupuncture is usually not painful. Many clients feel little more than a light tap, mild pressure, warmth, heaviness, or a relaxing sensation during treatment.

At your first acupuncture visit, your practitioner will ask about symptoms, stress, sleep, digestion, pain, and wellness goals. The session is designed to understand the full picture, not just one symptom, so your care can be tailored to what your body is experiencing.

Do you accept HSA/FSA, and do you offer packages, memberships, or gift certificates?

Yes. All Natural Wellness Center accepts HSA and FSA payments for eligible services. We also offer packages, memberships, and gift certificates for clients who want to save or share wellness services with someone else.

Packages and memberships are a good fit for clients who want consistent care, especially for massage, red light therapy, recovery support, or ongoing wellness routines. To see current options, start from the services and booking page.
